It is a six-week programme that combines lectures, practical simulations and analytical tasks to give participants hands-on experience in energy trading and quantitative analysis.

Anyone interested in trading or analytics can apply – students, graduates or professionals. Prior experience is helpful, but not required.

No formal qualifications are required. A basic understanding of finance or data analysis is an advantage, but motivation and curiosity are most important.

The programme is fully online, so you can join from anywhere.

The challenge is conducted in English.

No, participation is free.  

Participation is voluntary, so you can withdraw at any time. However, leaving early means you will not complete the programme, which affects your eligibility for recognition, awards, or potential career opportunities linked to the challenge.

No. 

Yes, you can reapply for future editions. However, we encourage participants to commit fully to the programme in order to gain maximum value from the experience. 

Expect several hours per week for lectures, practical tasks and mentoring sessions.  

Yes. The challenge is designed to serve as a talent pipeline. The most promising performers may be invited to interview. In past editions, several participants have joined GEN-I full-time or as student employees.

Evaluation is based on profit and loss (PnL) in simulations, theoretical knowledge, engagement during lectures and the quality of the tasks submitted.  

Yes. Recognition is given in categories such as PnL, theoretical knowledge and overall performance.
